The project is a partnership between US-based MGM Mirage and Ho Tram Project Co., wholly-owned subsidiary of Asian Coast Development Canada.

The ceremony featured traditional Vietnamese performances and was attended by leading executives from the two companies, as well as numerous high ranking provincial officials.

After designs were approved by MGM Mirage in early 2009, land clearance was soon begun, with landscaping and tree planting also taking place.

Jef Forrer, head of development for Ho Tram Project, said that the building work has been stepped up with over 200 workers helping to complete the second stage by October

The MGM Grand Ho Tram, which is slated to be Vietnam’s first luxurious integrated resort, is scheduled to be opened in early 2012.

The main facilities of this world-class resort include two hotel towers, offering luxury suites along with modern convention facilities and a wide selection of entertainment and recreation activities, including a championship golf course designed by Greg Norman.
